3 things you probably didn’t know and 3 you did.

Wait….what???

  1. The first chiropractic patient, Harvey Lillard, was deaf from what DD Palmer (the founder of chiropractic) believed was a spinal subluxation from a bucket falling on Harvey’s head. After much studying of the nervous system, DD delivered a spinal adjustment to Harvey and his hearing was restored!
  2. There are 26 studies including three clinical trials and four cohort studies that show that chiropractic adjustments can help reduce colic symptoms in babies.
  3. Chiropractic is an excellent treatment option for frozen shoulder! A clinical trial of 50 patients showed a reduction of pain reported before the study of a median rating of 9/10, down to a median score of 2/10.

And the three you probably already know

  1. Chiropractic is recommended for low back pain before opioid prescriptions and surgery by the Journal of the American Medical Association.
  2. Chiropractic can boost athletic performance.
  3. Chiropractors are recognized as health care providers in every state and a chiropractor must receive the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree to become a licensed chiropractor.  A typical DC program is 4822 hours of education, while the typical MD (medical doctor) program is 4248 hours.
